I-Kaolin, i-kaolin ene-calcium, i-kaolin ehlanziwe, i-metakaolin.

Ukusetshenziswa kwe-kaolin kufaka phakathi:
Njengezinto ezidingekayo zamaminerali ezimbonini eziningi, njengokwenza iphepha, izinto zobumba, irabha, imboni yamakhemikhali, ukumboza, imithi kanye nokuvikela izwe, i-kaolin inokwakheka okuthile, okwenza umzimba wodaka lwe-ceramic ube nomthelela ekuphenduleni, ekuhlanganiseni nasekubunjweni.

Indima ye-kaolin ezintweni zobumba ukwethula i-Al2O3, ekhuthaza ukwakheka kwe-mullite futhi ithuthukise ukuzinza kwayo kwamakhemikhali kanye namandla ayo okusila.

Ngesikhathi sokusila, i-kaolin iyabola ibe yi-mullite, yakha uhlaka oluyinhloko lwamandla omzimba oluhlaza, olungavimbela ukuguquka kwemikhiqizo, lwandise izinga lokushisa lokudubula, futhi lwenze umzimba oluhlaza ube nobumhlophe obuthile.

I-Metakaolin (MK ngamafuphi) iyi-silicate ye-aluminium engamanzi (Al2O3 · 2SiO2, AS2 ngamafuphi) eyakhiwe ukuphelelwa amanzi kwe-kaolin (Al2O3 · 2SiO2 · 2H2O, AS2H2 ngamafuphi) ekushiseni okufanele (600~900 ℃). I-Kaolin ingeyesakhiwo se-silicate esinezingqimba, futhi izingqimba ziboshwe yi-van der Waals bond, lapho ama-ion e-OH eboshwe khona ngokuqinile. Uma i-kaolin ishiswa emoyeni, isakhiwo sayo sizoshintsha izikhathi eziningana. Uma ishiswa cishe ku-600 ℃, isakhiwo se-kaolin esinezingqimba sizobhujiswa ngenxa yokuphelelwa amanzi, sakhe i-metakaolin yesigaba sokuguquka enekristali elibi. Ngenxa yokuthi ukuhlelwa kwama-molecule e-metakaolin akujwayelekile, iveza isimo se-thermodynamic metastable futhi iyakwazi ukugella ngaphansi kokuvuselelwa okufanele.

I-Metakaolin uhlobo lokuxubana kwamaminerali okusebenzayo kakhulu. Iyi-aluminium silicate engaguquki eyakhiwe yi-kaolin ecolekile kakhulu efakwe i-calcium emazingeni okushisa aphansi. Inomsebenzi ophezulu we-pozzolanic, osetshenziswa kakhulu njengokuxubana kwekhonkrithi, futhi ingasetshenziswa futhi ukwenza ama-polymer e-geological asebenza kahle kakhulu.
